Quick Start Guide

There are just a few easy steps to get up and running with Geniverse. Start by opening the ChromeFirefox, or Safari browser.

Geniverse Full Version

Step 1:  Register for an account at the Learn portal.  The username and password you select will also give you access to the Discussion Forums here on Geniversity! Check out this video about registering in the Portal.
Step 2: Add a class. You can add students to the class or students can add themselves.  Need help?  Check out this video about setting up classes.
Step 3:  Play with Geniverse. Select a character, watch the introductory narrative and open the Case Log to start solving cases. This is the best and most important way to learn about Geniverse.

Geniverse Demo Version

Step 1:

Simply visit the Geniverse Demo site and click the "Launch Demo Activity" button. Select a character, watch the introductory narrative and open the Case Log to start solving cases. This is the best and most important way to learn about Geniverse. (Note: Student progress is neither tracked nor saved in the Demo Version.)

We also suggest you read our Teacher Guides and Lesson Plans. Each guide makes the lessons clear and has associated materials that you can print for your students.  If you have questions or comments, use the Discussion Forums to talk with other teachers and with us!

If you are using the Demo Version, we suggest you start with the 3-Lesson Primer.

Playing with Geniverse for the First Time

Here is what you will see when you play with Geniverse for the first time.

First, the Log In Screen.  This is where you will enter your username and password if you are using the Full Version.  Demo Users also begin here but login is not required.

Second, you will be asked to choose a character to follow through the story.

Third, you can read through the narrative and begin to understand the importance of your journey through Geniverse.

Fourth, at the completion of the introductory narrative, you will find yourself in The Office.  To get started on solving Cases, click on the Case Log book on the desk or in the upper left corner.

Fifth, the Case Log!  If you are using the Full Version, and have been to Geniverse before, some of your stars and quills will already be filled in.  Click any Playground or Challenge name to open it.

Sixth, you will enter a lab screen showing the instructions for the specific challenge.

 Good luck and have fun!
