Defects in ACADS are the cause of acyl-CoA dehydrogenase short-chain deficiency (ACADSD)
[MIM:201470]. It is an autosomal recessive disorder resulting in acute acidosis and muscle weakness
in infants, and a form of lipid-storage myopathy in adults.
